MIRA Appoints New Senior Manager In Programme Management As Operation Restructures

MIRA, the internationally recognised engineering business, has appointed Christian Ibbs as its new Senior Manager of Programme Management.

Christian joins MIRA as it restructures its testing, engineering and business development divisions to cope with increased projects thanks to a growth rate of almost 50 per cent in the last three years.

With a background in programme engineering and programme management, Christian holds a BEng degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Birmingham and brings more than 22 years of sector expertise to the role at MIRA, which is primarily aimed at building programme management capabilities to cater for anticipated growth in the volume of larger programmes.

Following his appointment in August, Christian said:

“I have worked in the Midlands automotive industry for more than 20 years and have watched MIRA grow and grow offering a unique blend of engineering, development and test capabilities. The more I learnt about how the business operates, its people, its projects, its culture and ambitions, the more I wanted to be a part of it.

“Being part of a world-class team such as the one at MIRA is a real chance in a lifetime and I intend to use my knowledge of programme management to help develop a team that are – quite simply – the best in the industry, with the best processes and the best people. In addition to this, I intend to use my own experience to directly affect what we do and how we work at MIRA.

Prior to joining MIRA, Christian spent 13 years at global multi-industry engineering provider Ricardo, having worked his way up from Project Manager to Project Director. At Ricardo, Christian worked with the likes of McLaren, Jaguar Land Rover, Volkswagen, Daimler Chrysler and AvtoVAZ. Prior to Ricardo, Christian spent several years at Jaguar Land Rover and Rover Group.

MIRA’s Operations Director, Declan Allen, has welcomed the appointment. He said:

“Christian’s vast experience in both the Midlands automotive industry and in programme and project management will be invaluable at driving MIRA’s Programme Management functionality going forward. Christian’s appointment comes at an exciting time of change in the business and I have no doubt that he will lead his team from to strength and develop a structured approach to deliver grand scale project and programme activities.”
