MIRA Appoints New Senior Manager In Test Engineering As Operation Restructures

MIRA, the internationally recognised engineering business with world-class test engineering facilities has appointed Pia Wilkes as its new Senior Manager of Test Engineering.

Pia joins MIRA as it restructures its testing, engineering and business development divisions to cope with increased projects thanks to a growth rate of almost 50 per cent in the last three years.

With a background in vehicle engineering and business development, Pia holds a degree in Export Engineering from what was formerly the Engineering College in Horsens, Denmark and brings more than 17 years of expertise to the role at MIRA, which includes developing integrated strategic testing solutions for clients.

Following her appointment in July, Pia said:

“I have watched MIRA grow and grow as an organisation since George Gillespie was appointed in 2008 and the rate at which this has happened has been phenomenal. George stated some bold objectives when he first arrived at the business and he has done what he set out to do. It’s that kind of dynamism that made me sit up and watch, and ultimately want to work at MIRA.”

Pia has arrived at MIRA following senior roles at Lotus Engineering, TWR, Prodrive, VCA and VOSA. Following a short stint in engineering recruitment, Pia found herself full circle with the opportunity to head up MIRA’s Test Engineering division.

“It’s wonderful going back to my roots in engineering. I’m really enjoying working on the technical side again and being able to look into strategic solutions and am developing an integrated package that we can offer to MIRA customers.

“I’m also really keen to develop our long-term contracts and look into future technologies to ensure we can continue to deliver what consumers are looking for.”

MIRA’s Business Development Director, Geoff Davis, has welcomed the appointment. He said:

Pia lives in Stratford-upon-Avon with her husband and two young sons.
