MIRA Geared Up For Technologies Showcase
MIRA has been praised by the Rt Hon David Willetts as an example of best practice in contributing to the eight great technologies that will secure future growth for the UK.
The Minister for Universities and Science visited MIRA on Friday 7th February for a series of demonstrations showcasing the technologies currently in use at the world class facility near Hinckley.
The visit follows publication of the Minister’s paper Eight Great Technologies, in which he outlines the eight innovations which will propel the UK to future growth and help it stay ahead in the global race.
MIRA presented a range of intelligent vehicle technologies, such as its mission-proven MIRA Autonomous Control Equipment (MACE) system – applied to unmanned ground vehicles – as well as the technology behind its Network Guided Vehicles (NGV) and its Cloud Based Traffic Management Systems. In addition, MIRA’s contribution to energy storage technology was demonstrated through its state-of-the-art Battery Management for vehicle application.
