MIRA Showcases World Leading Defence Vehicle Engineering Capability at DSEI 2013
MIRA demonstrated current and future vehicle engineering projects designed to meet the demanding requirements of the defence industry at this year’s DSEI show in London.
Having successfully delivered programmes for both international defence ministries and vehicle manufacturers alike, visitors to MIRA’s stand at DSEI were given a glimpse of the company’s next-gen autonomous IED detection platform known as ‘MACE 1’. The platform is used by the international engineering consultancy in the advancement of UGV technology and features a sophisticated Improvised Explosive Device (IED) sensor system and MIRA’s battle proven Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) ‘MACE’ control systems technology. The vehicle is also complemented with improved functionality and is one third of the weight of Pathfinder; MIRA’s unmanned IED detection system currently being used in-theatre by the British Army.
MIRA’s stand drew large numbers of delegates across the four day event and throughout the show the company’s experts were on-hand to discuss both defence and non-military engineering projects with fellow delegates, offering consultancy services to help customers deliver their engineering challenges.
With design, development and test expertise coupled with state of the art engineering facilities, MIRA has partnered with many manufacturers to become their vehicle engineering centre of excellence for turnkey programmes. MIRA has been involved in the upgrade of many in-service vehicle platforms for the British Army such as brakes, suspension, thermal management and EMC and has delivered subject matter expertise in all vehicle engineering disciplines.
