Held this year on 7th July, the event attracted hundreds of spectators who came to watch teams from across the Midlands put their soapbox creations to the test.
Despite placing lower in the overall rankings than many might have expected due to difficulties encountered during their second timed run, the team did secure the prize for ‘Most Sponsorship Raised’.
After weeks of campaigning, including charity car washes, leg waxes, and cake sales, MIRA’s soapbox team in conjunction with Warwick Castle, Eden Beauty Salon, Olive Catering and Tamworth Snowdome, managed to raise an impressive £863.25 for local charity Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice – a local hospice dedicated to supporting children with life limiting and terminal illnesses as well as special and complex needs ranging from new-borns to children up to the age of five.
